Norwegian Cruise Line has scrapped Norwegian Epic’s entire forthcoming winter season from Europe.

In an email to customers, the line said it had axed the 11 cruises from December 2023 to April 2024 due to fleet redeployment, Cruise Hive reports.

The cancelled cruises were due to depart from Civitavecchia, Haifa, Trieste and Lisbon.

According to Cruise Hive, NCL told passengers: “We understand the desire to travel now more than ever, so we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

“We sincerely appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you aboard very soon.”

The news comes a week after NCL cancelled Norwegian Spirit’s 2024 Alaska season after securing a full ship charter instead.

All impacted Norwegian Epic guests will receive a full refund returned to the original form of payment.

If passengers paid for their cruise with a future cruise credit (FCC), it will be returned to their Latitudes passenger loyalty account within 10 days.

NCL is also offering guests a 20% discount for any European sailing until 30 April 2024 and an additional 10% discount for any future cruise until December 31 2024.

The 10% discount can be used in any sailing region but may not be combined with the 20% European sailing discount.

The ship will offer Mediterranean cruises from Civitavecchia and Barcelona until December when it will be redeployed elsewhere. The line has not yet revealed where that will be.

Travel Gossip has contacted NCL for comment.
