Trade-friendly local experience provider Not In The Guidebooks (NITGB) is offering travel agents the opportunity to invest in the business through its second crowdfunding campaign.

Founder Carol Savage said: “We’ve created the platform so agents can compete when offering authentic local sustainable experiences.

“We’ve focused the business on building a relationship with local providers and our passion and product has excited travel agents and customers alike.

“We’re now ready to take the business to the next level, providing more experiences, launching new and exciting itineraries, making it easier to find and book what you are looking for with more inspirational content that you can access and share easily to help you grow your business.”

Carol, who is former Global Marketing Director for Exodus Travels, launched NITGB in December 2019.

She has set up several businesses and, in 2009, she made TV history after becoming the first entrepreneur to appear on Dragon’s Den and be offered double the money asked for.

This is the second crowdfund campaign she has launched for NITGB. The first one, in October 2020, raised £125,000, including investment from 200 travel agents.

Investors’ pledges from the initial crowdfund have since been converted into shares, which have increased in value from their initial investment.

This new crowdfund is part of a second investment phase, which has already secured £300 million from angel investors.

A £127 crowdfund pledge will buy 50 shares in the business.
