Omega Breaks has launched two tours for guests to witness the solar eclipse in Egypt in 2027.

The total solar eclipse in Luxor takes place on 2 August 2027 and is expected to last more more than six minutes.

The company has enlisted the BBC’s Sky at Night presenter and astronomer Pete Lawrence to join guests for part of the tour in Luxor, including the day of the eclipse.

An eight-day Luxor only tour starts from £3,499 per person and an 11-day Luxor and Cairo trip starts from £4,499pp.

Trade Sales Manager Claire Dutton said: “We know from our experience in selling eclipse breaks that customers book several years in advance as they know it is such a unique phenomenon and they don’t want to miss out. Travelling in the company of an astronomy expert who can bring the whole event to life, making it even more special and unique.

“Therefore, whilst 2027 might seem a long way off to be promoting, I’d urge agents to begin marketing this as widely as possible as they might be surprised by the variety of customers it appeals to.”
