The Turkish owner of one of Russia’s biggest travel companies has launched a UK tour operator, Holiday Best.
The London-based travel company has started selling online direct to consumers this month.
It is being led by former Hays Travel Marketing and Homeworking Director John Milburn, who was appointed to the role of Chief Marketing Officer in February.
Holiday Best is offering deposits of £50 per person, which it said was the lowest in the UK, and will include bags and transfer in the price.
“It’s great that customers have so much choice in the UK to create experiences and trips that are perfect for them, but so often we see frustrations with hidden costs for luggage or transfers and they always seem to be tagged on at the end of the booking process,” said John.
“That’s why Holiday Best is focused on making sure that all costs that our customers need to consider are available to every customer at the start of their booking journey, then they can tailor their trip from there and only keep what they want and need.
“With transparency at the core of our offering, whether booking online or through our telephone service, we want to make sure that our customers have the easiest and best possible experience from the moment they book to when they land back home.”
Holiday Best is focusing on short-haul favourites Turkey, Greece, Spain and Egypt, but also offers a range of other destinations.
Documents filed with Companies House show that the sole shareholder of Holiday Best is Ramazan Akpinar, a Turkish businessman and the sole owner of Moscow-based Pegas Touristik, which also specializes in travel to Turkey, as well as Thailand, Vietnam, China, UAE and Israel.
Pegas owns Russia-based leisure carrier Nordwind Airlines and is affiliated to a new Turkish airline, Southwind, which launched in Antalya last August, initially offering flights between Turkey and Russia.
Holiday Best has an ATOL licence to carry almost 81,000 up to March 2024.
