P&O Cruises makes £10k charity donation on behalf of agents

Cruise line P&O Cruises has donated £10,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust on behalf of UK travel agents, diverting funds that would typically be spent on promotional items at conferences.

The cruise line is a long-term supporter of the Trust and next year will be the 10th anniversary of its partnership. P&O Cruises hopes to raise £1 million of fundraising by the end of the year, including by scaling back on branded giveaways and instead putting the money towards the charity.

Sales Director Ruth Venn said: “Travel agent conferences are fundamental in our travel agent training and engagement plans, and we welcome the opportunity to speak with hundreds of agents over the coming months.

“We are reducing the distribution of branded merchandise, and we are confident agents will support us in this decision. We are so proud to be coming into our tenth year of supporting the incredible work undertaken by Teenage Cancer Trust so there couldn’t be a better time for us to redirect funds.

“The best takeaways from travel agent conference season are the ideas shared and the relationships built, and we encourage agents to talk to us more now than ever before.”
