A passenger on a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Aberdeen filmed as the plane was forced to abort its first attempt at landing during Storm Babet.

Steven Milne shared the video on Twitter/X as the pilot pulled out of landing at the last minute yesterday morning (Thursday 19 October).

He also filmed the second attempt, around 30 minutes later, which was successful, to the relief of passengers who then applauded.

Steven’s second video was accompanied by the comment: “Second attempt at landing at Aberdeen Airport on this morning’s KLM flight from Amsterdam thanks to Storm Babet, least we know the brakes work.”

A KLM spokesperson said: “Due to gusty wind, the KL1441 from Amsterdam to Aberdeen landed successfully the second attempt.”

Some 65 out of 128 flights scheduled to leave and arrive at Aberdeen airport on Thursday were cancelled because of the extreme weather, LBC reports.
