Protests across France appear to be calming, with Sunday evening seeing a marked decrease in incidents and arrests.
French media reports between 50 and 150 people were arrested last night, much lower than the 700 the night before.
However, violent clashes have continued and a 24-year-old firefighter died tackling a blaze in an underground car park in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis after several vehicles were set alight on Sunday evening.
President Macron is preparing to meet the leaders of both houses of parliament to discuss the violence, which follows the police shooting of teenager Nahel M in Paris last week.
The UK Foreign Office has not updated its advice since Friday, when it said: “Since 27 June, riots have taken place across France. Many have turned violent.
“Shops, public buildings and parked cars have been targeted. There may be disruptions to road travel and local transport provision may be reduced. Some local authorities may impose curfews.
“Locations and timing of riots are unpredictable. You should monitor the media, avoid areas where riots are taking place, check the latest advice with operators when travelling and follow the advice of the authorities.”
