Ryanair says it will operate its ‘largest ever schedule’ this summer as it reports full-year profits of €1.43 billion (£1.24bn).

The results, for the 12 months ending 31 March, compare to a net loss of €355 million for the previous year.

Passenger numbers were up 74% to 168.6m travellers, with fares 10% above pre-COVID levels.

Ryanair said its market share has ‘grown significantly in most EU markets’, particularly Italy, Poland and Ireland.

“This summer we will operate our largest ever schedule (almost 2,500 routes with over 3,000 daily flights),” the airline said in a statement.
