Intrepid Travel has announced its fourth annual National Travel Agent Day (NTAD) will be celebrated on Friday 8 September.

Look out for discounts, giveaways and events to be announced by the adventure tour operator soon.

NTAD was launched by Intrepid during the pandemic ‘to celebrate, support and recognise the work done by travel agents’.

It was originally held on the last Friday before the school holidays, but Head of Business Development Joanna Reeve said the date had been moved now that people are more likely to be away in July.

“National Travel Agent Day was born during the pandemic, to bring the industry together and celebrate all the work our agent partners do,” she said.

“While the last Friday before the school holidays worked for the past few years, it doesn’t as much now with people away on holidays.

“We hope that by moving the date, it will become accessible for more suppliers and agents.”

Last year, Intrepid teamed up with Travel Gossip to give agents the chance to win a trip of a lifetime to Australia as part of NTAD.
