Scenic has confirmed that it is to acquire another ocean cruise ship as its sister line Emerald unveiled its third yacht.
Emerald Kaia will join the Emerald Yacht Cruises fleet in April 2026, and its itineraries will go on sale on 22 April 2024.
The new 128-passenger ship will join Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara, offering mainly seven-night cruises in Europe during her debut season, moving to the Seychelles for winter 2026/27.
Scenic Group Chairman and Founder Glen Moroney said Emerald Kaia marked ‘a pivotal expansion’ for the fleet. Enhancements on the new ship include an expanded Sky Deck, incorporating a new internal Sky Lounge, improved dining options and an open-air gym and much larger wellness area.
The cabins and suites will be 10% larger than its sister ships, it will offer additional water sports and there’ll be an observation sun deck on the bow, Sky Deck cabanas and a Sky Bar.
Prices start from £4,656 per person in April 2026 for the Mediterranean Enchantment cruise.
Scenic Group UK Managing Director, Sales & Marketing Nichola Absalom said: “We’re not stopping here, we’re going to continue to expand, more ships are coming.”
While she said she couldn’t reveal further details, she confirmed that Scenic will shortly announce the arrival of a third yacht to join Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II.
“Our growth is in ocean cruising and while I can’t say any more at this point, we will have another Scenic yacht,” she added.
Also, Scenic Eclipse I and Scenic Eclipse II will receive ‘significant’ enhancements ahead of the summer season in the Mediterranean. Scenic Eclipse will go into dry dock in April for updates to several areas, including its Senses Spa and outdoor dining venues, while Scenic Eclipse II will be installed with a new custom-designed submersible and four SEABOBs, which are like underwater powerpacks for swimmers.
The group has also announced design updates for its 18 Scenic and Emerald Cruises river ships, to align more closely with the Scenic and Emerald yachts.
UK Sales, Strategy & Partnership Director Nick Hughes said: “The exciting launch of Emerald Kaia coincides with the tenth anniversary of Emerald Cruises. To commemorate this special milestone, Emerald Cruises is giving away 10 river fam trip places, for bookings made during April 2024.”
Emerald has also launched a flash sale, giving guests will an additional 10% discount on all 2025 river and yacht cruises from 9– 16 April 2024 on all cabin grades.
