Consumer champion Which? is suggesting Black Friday holiday deals this year might represent a real bargain, in contrast to other products and services.

While in the past, Which? has found that holidaymakers would save more by booking later, it said this year, the best bargains might be available now.

Its researchers found that almost 90% of Black Friday holiday deals in 2022 were cheaper than two weeks after the sale ended.

The consumer champion said its research showed that 88% of the 120 Black Friday holiday, flight and cruise deals from 12 different companies had gone up within a fortnight.

And some 65% of the holidays that were discounted on Black Friday and still available to book in January 2023 had gone up in price, said Which?

Eight of the 10 TUI holidays deals Which? checked were still available to buy in January and seven of these were cheaper on Black Friday.

Which? researchers found a seven-night all-inclusive holiday for two people to Ibiza in May booked on Black Friday that would have been 42%more two weeks later, and 34% more expensive in January.

On Black Friday, the holiday could be booked for £1,245, before rising to £1,769 two weeks later, and dropping slightly to £1,667 in the New Year.

P&O Cruises also had a good selection of Black Friday deals in 2022, said Which? Of the 10 holidays the consumer champion checked, nine were still available in January and of these, eight were cheaper on Black Friday.

Which? researchers found a 16-night cruise for two people around Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea in May for £3,500 that was 25% more expensive two weeks later at £4,358, and 17% more expensive in January.

However, Which? found that six out of eight Jet2holidays breaks still available in January were more expensive on Black Friday. A week-long couples’ holiday to Fuerteventura in August was £3,770 on Black Friday, remained the same price two weeks later, and dropped by £348 to £3,422 in January.
