ABTA is encouraging its members write to their MPs ahead of Small Business Saturday this weekend. ABTA has shared a standard template letter to help the process which highlights the important contribution members’ businesses make employing local people and generating income for the local economy.
Together with the template letter, which can be edited and personalised, ABTA has also shared social media posts to promote the sector. ABTA is also encouraging members to include data on the contribution to their constituency’s economy, which can be found in ABTA’s value of travel data dashboard on abta.com.
Luke Petherbridge ABTA's Director of Public Affairs said:
“Small Business Saturday is an ideal opportunity for ABTA members to remind their MPs about the immense contribution our sector makes to local economies, both financially and in terms of providing jobs.
“The standard letter we have created encourages MPs to fully appreciate the value of outbound travel and the services our members provide for the people of towns, cities and villages throughout the country, and calls on MPs to champion our industry in parliament.”
Through its social media channels ABTA is also encouraging customers to support Small Business Saturday this weekend by visiting their local ABTA travel agency or give them a call to chat and book their next holiday.
