Spain reveals which holidaymakers are its biggest out-of-season spenders

International tourists spent 24% more in Spain in November 2023 than in the same of 2022, with Brits accounting for more than any other nationality.

Some 5.1 million international visitors spent a total of €6,653 million, of which tourists resident in the UK accounted for 16%, while Germans accounted for 12% and the visitors from the Nordic countries 9.6%.

Spending by both Brits and Nordic visitors was up 19% year-on-year, while Germans spent 16% more than in November 2022, according to the figures from the National Statistics Institute.

For the first 11 months of last year, the total expenditure by international tourists was up 24% year-on-year to €101,569 billion. The figure was 16.9% higher than pre-pandemic.
