Travel agents can now sell SPL Villas package holidays after the operator obtained its own ATOL licence.

The SPL Villas portfolio of properties encompasses more than 1,500 properties in over 100 destinations.

Currently, over a third of bookings are taken via travel agents, and the company is a member of several consortia groups including Advantage, Barrhead and PTS, with plans to expand those memberships and work more closely with the trade in 2024.

It has already begun the process to recruit a third member to its trade sales team early in the new year, who will be focused on the southern part of the UK.

Managing Director Edward Frampton-Fell said: “Travel agents have always been an important element of our strategy. After a period of change in the villa sector, securing ATOL certification is a big step for us to take in ensuring we’re their first choice when it comes to booking villas for their clients.”

To coincide with the ATOL licence, which covers 4,275 passengers, SPL Villas has unveiled a refreshed brand identity and website.

Agents will be able to make villa-only bookings online right away, with package booking enquiries directed to the SPL VIlla contact centre. Full online package booking functionality will be available later this month.
