The Personal Travel Consultants in partnership with Blue Bay Travel held its first overseas conference earlier this month at Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort and Spa.
A total of 28 PTCs enjoyed the Spanish sunshine from 16-18 October to hear business updates from the company, meet with supplier partners for speed dating sessions, attend a gala dinner with awards, as well as enjoy the island.
The homeworking arm of Blue Bay Travel held its inaugural conference in the UK last year, and this was the first move to an overseas event.
A highlight of the three-day trip included the conference day being held onboard Ambassador Cruise Line’s ship Ambience while it was docked in port in Palma.
The agents were also treated to a meal at Zafiro Palace Andratx and a gala dinner sponsored by Virgin Voyages and Jet2holidays at the host hotel Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa.
Abbie Heaton, Group Manager for The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel said: “We were so excited for the overseas trip. It was such a great conference – we are small enough to make sure it’s all about the agents and the hotel lent itself perfectly to that with an intimate, boutique feel.
“The agents really enjoyed being able to spend the day on Ambience – from using the Observatory Lounge for the conference to getting a chance to see the ship during a tour as well.”
During the conference the team announced its PTC Panel – two homeworking members have been selected to join the team from head office where they can bring any issues agents may have to discuss and be involved in future decision making.
They also learnt who would be on its Top Sellers trip next year. A total of 12 agents who have sales of more than £1m are being rewarded in 2025 with a trip, with the destination yet to be revealed.
PTC Rebecca Bagnoli said: “What a fabulous conference. The Blue Bay leadership team and suppliers looked after us all so well, making us feel valued and rewarded for all our hard work. Being a PTC and working from home full time, it means a lot to be able to come together and meet colleagues, head office and suppliers in person. I have learnt so much, had so many important conversations and already used what I’ve picked up to help convert my enquiries to bookings. The stunning setting of Secrets Villamil obviously added to the experience, as did the supportive and fun nature of everyone on the conference. Such a friendly, positive bunch of people. Bring on next year!”
PTC Kimberley Cardy added: “The Blue Bay Travel conference this year was inspiring and educational, and demonstrated how much Blue Bay truly cares for and values both its PTCs and our fabulous suppliers. Every last detail had been carefully considered and planned meticulously to ensure those who attended had the best experience and gained insight, knowledge and fun along the way.
“It was great to bond with the team and get to know the suppliers to further evolve relationships and I came away feeling valued, motivated, grateful and excited for the future with Blue Bay Travel.”
The Personal Travel Consultants in partnership with Blue Bay Travel has grown its business by 30% for 2024 and is looking to continue this growth in 2025, offering homeworkers support, training and access to head office resources, 250 supplier relationships and Blue Bay’s exclusive product offering.
In terms of earnings, PTCs receive 50% commission paid upfront and 50% paid six weeks prior to travel and are given access to high converting leads.
