Tailormade brands see leap in repeat bookings

Citalia, Sovereign Luxury Travel and American Holidays are all reporting an increase in repeat bookings for summer lates and winter sun 2024 holidays.

Across the three Travelopia Tailormade brands, repeat bookings for summer 2024 are up by 40%. The Deep South, New England and West Coast make up a quarter of American Holidays’ repeat summer bookings, with New England alone seeing a 50% increase year-on-year.

Three quarters of winter sun bookings are repeat customers, up from half last year.

Within Sovereign Luxury Travel, 42% of winter sun bookings are repeat bookings, with the most popular destination, Tenerife, making up a quarter of all repeat bookings. More than half (54%) of repeat winter bookings are for departures in February and the average length of trip for a repeat booking is 9.75 nights.

A quarter of Citalia’s winter sun bookings are repeats, with the Italian cities proving the most popular, particularly Venice, Rome and Florence (pictured). More than half (54%) of repeat winter bookings are for November, with the average length of stay at 5.3 nights.

A fifth of American Holidays’ winter sun bookings are repeat bookings, with Florida the most popular destination for November departures. A fifth of repeat winter bookings are for departures in December, with the average trip duration 11.6 nights.

The brands’ Marketing Director Erin Johnson said: “Reassuringly there is still a strong commitment to holiday spend. Guests are keen to ensure they are taking valuable time out to destinations and with agents and operators they know and trust.

“This is good news for us as tour operators and for agents as it means there is already a captive market to engage with who know and appreciate a particular destination or hotel and are keen to revisit.

“Looking further ahead to 2025, beyond the winter months we are also already seeing a significant proportion of bookings as repeat for those guests keen to plan ahead as well as secure holidays for the winter sun season.”
