The Dubai hotel where kids rule the roost

From the moment families first step into LEGOLAND Hotel in Dubai, it’s clear that it’s the kids who are the VIPs. Check-in desks are at child-height, there’s a soft play area in the lobby – and the lift has a disco ball! Located just a few steps from LEGOLAND Theme Park and LEGOLAND Water Park, this is the first and only hotel in Dubai built with kids in mind, which makes it the ultimate place to stay for families with young children.

First impressions

With a façade that looks like it was built from giant LEGO bricks, the LEGOLAND Hotel will be making children’s hearts race as soon as they pull up outside, but the real fun starts when they enter the reception, where their first encounter might be with a LEGO character doing their daily tour of the hotel. What better way to start a family holiday?

The rooms

LEGOLAND Hotel promises kids the ultimate sleepover in 250 themed bedrooms where the walls, carpets, bed linen and LEGO models bring the theme park experience to life. In each of the themed bedrooms, there’s a treasure hunt with hidden clues that kids must find to crack the code for a safe, where they’ll find a special LEGO gift. That should keep them busy while the grown-ups unpack!

Families can stay in a themed or fully themed Pirate, Adventure, LEGO Friends, LEGO Ninjago or Kingdom room. Eight of the fully themed rooms are suitable for guests with disabilities.

Every room sleeps five, which is a major selling point as this is quite unusual in Dubai. In addition to a king-size bed and TV for the adults, each room has a separate kids’ area with bunk beds, a pull-out bed, their own TV with LEGO Movie and, of course, a box of LEGO or DUPLO LEGO bricks. There’s even a child-height door peep hole so kids can see who’s knocking.

For larger bookings, there are 15 suites at the LEGOLAND Hotel. One-bed suites sleep eight and two and three-bed suites sleep between 13 and 21. For that larger extended family or big group booking, there’s a Super Suite with interconnecting rooms, sleeping up to 26.

Food & drink

Kids eat like kings and queens at the LEGOLAND Hotel, where the Bricks-themed buffet, open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and, just launched, Saturday brunch, has a low counter so they can serve themselves from a choice of child-friendly dishes.

For all-day dining, Skyline is open from 11am-11pm with a menu that even the fussiest eater will love – they can choose from favourites like spag bol and pizza or, for more sophisticated tastes, the dishes include Arabian mixed grill, Wagyu beef burgers and chicken quesadilla. Skyline also serves child-friendly snacks from 5pm to 10pm.

Breakfast is included in the price and kids eat free from 12-2pm and 6pm-8pm in both restaurants. Plus, there is not one but TWO happy hours with discounted drinks for mum and dad too!

For a totally chilled out day, guests can also order drinks and lunch beside the outdoor pool. The Pool Bar also serves ice creams and snacks – and there’s a happy hour here as well.

More dining options are available at Riverland, just a short stroll from the hotel, where guests will find outlets including Nachos & Pop, TGI Fridays and McDonalds.

The entertainment

The LEGOLAND hotel is just a few toddler steps from LEGOLAND Theme Park and LEGOLAND Water Park, which offer more than 60 rides between them, and here’s the best bit, guests staying a minimum of two nights get free access and early entry to Factory Street 30 minutes before the theme park opens.

Those staying three nights or more also get free access to Motiongate and its four famous motion picture studios offering 40 attractions including Shrek Meet & Greet, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar Mad Pursuit. This is also only a few steps from the hotel.

When their legs are tired, the kids can head back to the hotel’s outdoor pool, which has a separate splash area for little ones and a snack kiosk to make everything super-easy for families.

There’s also more entertainment inside with daily creative workshops or, for a unique experience, kids can watch a Master Model Builder at work.

This wouldn’t be Dubai without plenty of retail therapy as well and the LEGOLAND Dubai Resort doesn’t disappoint, with lots of outlets selling all your guests could want including – you guessed it – LEGO souvenirs!

New All-Inclusive Packages

Just launched is the option of an all-inclusive package, valid for stays of at least four nights, which includes daily buffet breakfast at the hotel, a wide range of lunch choices within the LEGOLAND Parks or hotel, a choice of buffet or à la carte dinner at the hotel, unlimited ice-cream from 8pm till midnight, unlimited soft drinks across LEGOLAND Dubai Resort (hotel, theme Park and water park) and unlimited alcoholic beverages (over 21s only) from 11am to midnight at LEGOLAND® Hotel.
