Travel Counsellors has teamed up The Future You Foundation to launch a scholarship scheme for graduates keen to launch their own travel businesses.

Up to 10 graduates will be given a place on the Travel Counsellors Academy and receive a package of benefits with a view to them launching their own business by October.

Travel Counsellors’ usual £10,000 franchise joining fee will be waived for those who win a place on the scholarship scheme.

Applicants will be invited to submit a business plan, which will be screened by the Travel Counsellors recruitment team, they will then be invited to pitch their business idea in front of a panel of industry experts. Each applicant will receive constructive feedback on their business plan, regardless of whether they are successful or not.

Winners will receive six months’ initial training followed by a further six months of ongoing training, a dedicated mentor and an industry mentor, 12-month Institute of Travel & Tourism membership, CLIA membership, laptop, phone line and access to Travel Counsellor’s digital platform Phenix.

Co-founder of the Future You Foundation Claire Steiner said “We are so excited to be launching this innovative competition with Travel Counsellors, to inspire the next generation of industry talent.

“It’s never been more critical to inspire and attract talented individuals to our industry and this competition aimed at young entrepreneurs will do just that.”

Candidates must apply on the ITTFutureYou.com website by 21 July.
