More than 400 new cabin crew are gearing up to fly with TUI after completing their training ready for the summer.

After a six-week training course, 443 new crew members will begin flying in the next few weeks from TUI’s 23 regional bases. They are also being joined by 130 new pilots.

TUI Head of Cabin Crew Management Ian Campbell said the business saw unprecedented interest’ when the cabin crew vacanices went live with 10,000 applications in the first week.

Ian said: “Their commitment to working and studying hard to be the best cabin crew they can is inspiring and fuels the entire team’s motivation. The new entrants inject a wonderful dose of positive energy into our regional bases, and their excitement is contagious. The sheer volume of learning is always a shock to entrants, but when they get their wings and put on their uniforms it becomes real; they are finally in the job they’ve aspired to.”

TUI added it is getting ready for a busy summer period for 2024 with holidays to 59 destinations in its network. TUI has previously said it would be operating its largest programme, with 1.1m flight seats available for this summer.

This included an additional 160,000 seats to Turkey, 150,000 to the Balearics, 100,000 to the Canaries and an additional 80,000 seats to Greece.
