Ryanair and Scottish carrier Loganair have both axed routes from Scottish airports for summer 2024.
Budget airline Ryanair has dropped five routes from Edinburgh and one from Glasgow Prestwick.
Ryanair has axed flights from Edinburgh to Carcassone, Nîmes and Poitiers in France, Santiago de Compostela in Spain and Turin in Italy. From Prestwick it has dropped flights to Marseille in France for next summer.
A spokesman for Ryanair told The Herald the move follows a review of its routes.
Meanwhile Loganair has dropped flights from Inverness to Birmingham and Dublin and suspended its Dundee to Kirkwall and Aberdeen to Oslo services. It blamed costs and ‘soft market conditions’, according to The Herald.
At the same time, WestJet has confirmed it will launch flights from Edinburgh to Toronto and Halifax in Canada, which will operate alongside its flights from Edinburgh to Calgary.
