Two PTC homeworkers take £1m-plus of sales in less than six months

Two of The Personal Travel Consultants who work closely together have each taken £1 million of bookings in less than six months.

Lynne Walton hit the milestone in April, closely followed by Nicola Szymanowski in May.

PTC said Lynne’s achievement stood out as her sales come from her own database of leads. What’s more, she managed to match her annual sales for 2023 in just four months this year.

Lynne, who has over 25 years’ experience, specialises in Turkey and Europe. After becoming a mum, she switched from managerial stints at high street stores like Thomas Cook to a home-based role. However, she stepped away from travel for a couple of years to support her husband through a health issue.

Nicola has been in the travel industry since 1999, working in various call centre sales roles followed by a stint at Radisson. She also stepped out of travel for a period, returning post-COVID. When Lynne told Nicola she was getting more leads than she could convert, the pair joined forces.

PTC Group Manager Abbie Heaton said: “We’re thrilled to celebrate Lynne and Nicola reaching £1 million in sales so early into the year. We wouldn’t normally expect to see the £1 million milestone being exceeded by any of our PTCs until much later in the year so achieving this only four to five months into the year is exceptional, particularly as Lynne has only been back in the business for two years.

“They are a bit of a dynamic duo, having found a brilliant way to marry their skill sets to achieve maximum individual success and it’s paying off in spades.”

Lynne said she put their success down to offering both ready-made and custom-built travel packages. “Whatever our customers need, we can deliver with exceptional service and rapid response times.

“This is possible thanks to our trusted suppliers. Recently we worked with Etihad on an exclusive promotion that we advertised on social media, generating several leads. These offers provide opportunities for upselling and enhancing our online presence which can lead to future sales.”

Nicola added: “We both have a strong work ethic and will go above and beyond for our clients as customer service is paramount.

“This approach has earned us both consistently positive reviews and a loyal customer base that returns year after year. Fundamentally, we provide our customers with compelling reasons to choose us again and again.”
