Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to increase capacity from Heathrow to two key US cities for summer 2024.

The airline is adding a seventh daily flight to JFK and a second daily service to Boston.

When flights with Virgin’s joint venture partner Delta are taken into account, there will be 10 daily services to New York – an increase of 11% on summer 2023 – and three flights a day to Boston.

The Virgin Atlantic departures to Boston will be on the airline’s newest aircraft, the A330-900neo, and A350-1000, increasing the number of Upper and Premium seats by 23%.

Upper Class passengers on the A330-900neo can book into the Retreat Suite, which comprises of two spacious exclusive suites at the front of the Upper Class cabin.

Passengers travelling with joint venture partner Delta will be able to experience its new Delta One product.

These new services complement the airline’s recent announcements of increasing Miami services from 11 flights per week to twice daily year-round and a new seasonal summer service from Manchester to Las Vegas.

Next summer there will be an average of 27 daily departures with Virgin Atlantic from the UK to US destinations including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa and Washington DC.
