Agents have voiced concerns about Virgin Atlantic’s new service from Manchester to Las Vegas after more than a week of cancellations.

After cancelling a flight last Friday, 26 July, the airline has confirmed all this week’s flights have also been axed.

The next available non-stop flight between Manchester and Las Vegas is on 7 August.

Posting in Travel Gossip’s Facebook group, one agent said the airline had blamed staff shortages’ when their client’s flight was cancelled, but other agents said they doubted there was enough traffic to sustain the service.

However, Virgin Atlantic told Travel Gossip that it remains committed to the route, which only launched on 2 June.

In a statement it said: “We’ve made the difficult decision to make a limited number of cancellations to our Manchester to Las Vegas service between 31 July- 4 August, in order to protect our summer flying programme.

“We’d like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused and can confirm they will be rebooked onto alternative services.

“We’re committed to Manchester, our home in the north, and our new route to Las Vegas.”

Virgin’s Manchester to Vegas summer-only service is due to operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays until 25 October. It is scheduled to resume on 29 April 2025 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
