Virgin Atlantic is adding a second daily flight to Mumbai, which will be its fifth daily service to India.

The flight between London’s Heathrow and Mumbai will start on 27 October, and seats will go on sale on 10 April.

It will complement Virgin’s double-daily service to Delhi and its recently launched flights to Bengaluru.

Virgin’s capacity between the UK and India has grown 350% since 2019, making it the airline’s largest area of growth outside the US.

Chief Commercial Officer Juha Jarvinen said: “There is a huge opportunity for us in India, it has a dynamic, fast-growing economy and we’re anticipating a huge growth in demand for international travel from the region.”
