Visit Gibraltar, the marketing arm of the Gibraltar Tourist Board, is rolling out a new logo and brand identity.

As part of the rebrand, the tourist board is also working on the relaunch of its agents training programme, and it is planning fam trips in collaboration with operator partners. Further details will be announced when the training programme relaunches, it said.

The new logo aims to promote Gibraltar’s nature and heritage, featuring outlines in its lettering of a Barbary macaque, Gibraltar Candytuft, the Rock, the Trinity lighthouse and, in a nod to its British connection, Admiral Lord Nelson.

It includes the strapline ‘Where the Med begins’ as Gibraltar aims to promote itself as a strategic location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

Visit Gibraltar is encouraging social media followers to share the new logo with the hashtag WheretheMedbegins.

It said the brand refresh is part of a longer-term strategy for tourism in the destination, which encompasses product enhancement, infrastructure development and green initiatives.

Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture & Tourism Christian Santos said: “When attracting Gibraltar’s future visitor we want our narrative to embody the fabric of our destination and our cultural identity.

“We are very excited to be launching a new chapter of storytelling that draws on our history, our protected wildlife, our historic city and of course our people.”
