WestJet is adding seasonal flights to Eastern Canada from Gatwick and Edinburgh next year.

The service, to St John’s, will operate between 1 May and 25 October 2024, reaching the eastern-most point of Canada in just under six hours.

Flights will operate three times a week, on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

WestJet has also announced plans to fly between Halifax and Edinburgh for the first time. The airline previously operated flights from Glasgow to the Canadian city.

The Edinburgh flights will operate three times a week, between 20 June and 3 September next year.

WestJet’s service between Toronto and Edinburgh, which it last served in 2022, will also resume next year, while its Calgary-Edinburgh service will be expanded from three to four flights a week from 12 May, 2024.
