Royal Caribbean has reportedly informed guests that next week’s cruise on Wonder of the Seas has been oversold.

It is the third time in five months that cabins on the world’s largest ship, which can hold just over 7,000 guests at maximum capacity, have been double-booked.

Royal Caribbean has blamed an inventory error for the mistake, which is the same explanation it gave when it oversold Wonder of the Seas in March this year and in December 2022.

Guests booked on the over-sold seven-night Eastern Caribbean & Perfect Day cruise, departing on 30 April from Florida, have been sent a message by Royal Caribbean inviting them to cancel or postpone their cruise, according to Cruise Hive.

Those who choose to reschedule are being offered two alternative sailings onboard Wonder of the Seas on 9 July or 20 August, with the same itinerary.

Alternatively, those who cancel will receive a 100% refund and a 100% Future Cruise Credit, which must be used within 12 months.

According to the blog Cruise Hive, Royal Caribbean sent the following to guests: “We’re sorry to inform you that due to an unexpected inventory error, your scheduled Wonder of the Seas April 30th, 2023 sailing is currently oversold. We’re aware that this may cause disruption to your booking, so if your travel plans are flexible, you may be able to take advantage of our special offer.”
