Protected Trust Services has terminated membership of Travel Inspired Ltd, which trades as Conor Campbell Travel and Race Weekend Breaks, and is investigating complaints that the company took clients’ money but failed to book their trips.

Customers have complained on social media that they arrived at the airport to find they had not been booked on their flight and hotel bookings had either been cancelled or did not exist. They say they’ve been unable to contact the company since.

PTS said in a statement it aims to ensure bookings are fulfilled.

The statement said: “Protected Trust Services (PTS) are aware of several issues concerning Travel Inspired Ltd, also trading as Conor Campbell Travel and Race Weekend Breaks.

“We placed Travel Inspired Ltd on stop sale, some time ago, with our supplier partners whilst we hold our investigation. PTS has also terminated Travel Inspired Ltd membership.

“Consumer protection is of paramount importance to PTS. If customers believe they may be affected, they are urged to reach out to us at ask@protectedtrustservices.com. Our PTS team is working with those impacted to address and resolve their concerns.

“Our unwavering commitment remains to our partners and consumers. We will do our utmost to ensure that every traveller sees their booking fulfilled.”

Conor opened Conor Campbell Travel on the High Street in Crieff, near Perth, in 2020, at the age of 22.

The unit is now shut and the company’s accounts are marked as being overdue on Companies House.

The Courier newspaper reports the lease on the Crieff store ran out in July and ‘piles of unopened letters addressed to Campbell can still be seen inside the shop’.

In May last year, Celtic FC fan Conor was featured in Travel Gossip after he put rivalry aside and arranged two charter flights to get Rangers fans to the European League final in Seville.

However, he had to issue a public apology after the flights he’d secured to and from Seville were switched to Jerez, an hour’s drive away, leaving passengers having to sort out their own transfers. Twelve people missed their return flight and had to pay for other flights. Conor promised to reimburse travellers for extra costs.

Travel Gossip has contacted Conor Campbell Travel for a comment.
