ABTA statement on the Government Aviation Accessibility Task and Finish Group report

In November 2024, the Government announced that ABTA will be among the organisations involved in a new expert group which will work to improve aviation accessibility, empower consumers, and improve industry standards.
ABTA has now been invited to join the new Taskforce implementation group.
Mark Tanzer, Chief Executive of ABTA – The Travel Association said:
“ABTA and our members are keenly aware of the need to ensure that travel is accessible to all.
“We’ve been pleased to have an active role on the taskforce, building on ABTA’s work on this area. Whilst the travel industry has made progress in recent years to create travel experiences that can be accessed by all, there is always more that can be done to make sure that every journey goes smoothly.
“We look forward to sharing the Taskforce's recommendations with our members and being part of the new Taskforce implementation group.
“We will also continue with our other accessibility work, which covers the whole customer journey – from booking through to travelling on all types of trips, and how to make that more accessible and inclusive.”
