The celebrity version of Race Across the World has been postponed following the earthquake in Morocco, where the famous contestants start from.
The new series was due to begin at 9pm tonight (Wednesday 13 September) but it disappeared from TV listings earlier this week and the BBC has now confirmed its start has been delayed.
The celebrity version, which was filmed last year, sees All Saints singer Melanie Blatt, McFly drummer Harry Judd, racing driver Billy Monger and weatherman and broadcaster Alex Beresford travelling with a family member more than 10,000km across 24 countries.
Over six episodes, they and their plus-one travel from Marrakech through the Mediterranean, the Alps, Central Europe, the Baltic States and Scandinavia, ending in the Arctic capital, Tromso in Norway.
A BBC spokesperson told the Mirror: “In light of the earthquake in Morocco we have taken the decision to postpone the first episode of Celebrity Race Across the World, which was filmed in Marrakech.
“We’ll update on new schedule details shortly.”
