A Northern Ireland travel agent has described Jet2’s new flights from Belfast to Madeira as a ‘game-changer’.
The flights will start in November 2024 and run till March 2025.
They will operate between Belfast International Airport and Funchal.
Speaking during a fam trip to Madeira, organised by Galaxi on behalf of The Views Hotel Group, agent Savannah Bracewell (pictured above) of Travelmax said: “Direct flights from Belfast to Madeira are a game-changer as we now have a much easier time planning and booking holidays to this stunning Portuguese island.
“With no layovers or connecting flights to worry about, we can now offer more convenient and efficient travel options to our clients.”

Agents on the Madeira fam stayed at the adult-only The Views Baia (above), which overlooks the bay of Funchal. They also visited The Views Monumental, located in the heart of the tourist area, and The Views Oasis, a family resort on the coast.
Agent Philip Burrluck of Not Just Travel described the island as ‘a great location for couples wanting a long weekend explorer, winter sun for the retiree and an activity week for families’.
Activities sampled by agents on the fam trip included the traditional Madeira toboggan ride from the top of the island’s cable car (Rachel Atkins-Machin of InteleTravel and Laura Reynolds of DoorstoManual are pictured in a basket below) and a jeep safari.
