Edward Byrne, CEO of PB International Travel Limited t/a Powder Byrne, will join the ABTA Board of Directors replacing Jamie Gardiner of Diverse World Ltd, whose term comes to an end at the ABTA AGM on 4 December.
Edward will hold the seat for ABTA members with annual Principal turnover of less than £50m. Daniele Broccoli will continue on the Board, being a member with Retail turnover of less than £20m. Nominations were invited for both positions. In both cases, they were the only nominations received and so there was no need to hold an election.
Alistair Rowland, ABTA Chairman, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Edward Byrne to the ABTA Board. His experience and expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to represent and develop strategies to best serve members.
“I am also very pleased to see that Daniele Broccoli will be continuing in his position on the Board.
“I would also like to thank Jamie Gardiner who is stepping down from the Board, for his service and invaluable input during his time with us.”
Edward Byrne said:
"I am delighted to have been elected to ABTA's Board of Directors and look forward to working alongside such respected colleagues. Together with them I am eager to support innovation, uphold the highest standards and continue ABTA's vital role in representing our industry, supporting members and protecting consumer confidence."
