The October half-term getaway is upon us, and 12% of families with children are planning to go on holiday abroad during the school break, according to ABTA’s Holiday Habits research. We’re here to support members in providing your customers with memorable holidays and letting them travel with confidence.
In particular, our Destinations team monitors world events, FCDO travel advice and travel health updates to make sure you have the latest information. We share these through our operational bulletins, which you can sign up to in your ‘My Account’ section on abta.com.
We also have a wealth of materials for you to use to ensure your customers are equipped with knowledge and preparedness for their trips, and to keep them safe. This includes ABTA’s travel checklist which provides essential tips to help customers prepare for their break including checking FCDO advice, taking out comprehensive travel insurance and tips for navigating airport security rules.
With European destinations for beach breaks being a popular choice this half-term, we’ve been sharing more advice from our partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) on water safety on holiday. We’ve also been working with the media and members to ensure customers are prepared for the recently introduced EU Entry/Exit System (EES).
