This week, ABTA LifeLine Director, Trudie Clements, has set out on a challenging four-day trek through the Peruvian Andes to reach the ancient Incan city of Choquequirao. She’s joined by 21 senior leaders from across the travel industry to raise vital funds for ABTA LifeLine.
LifeLine is a benevolent fund and a valuable benefit for ABTA members. It aims to support people in financial hardship and who are either currently, or used to be, employed by an ABTA member.
This year’s trek aims to raise £30,000, and is organised by ABTA member G Adventures. The donations will go towards supporting two causes – ABTA LifeLine and the Planeterra Foundation, which works with local communities in Peru that rely on tourism to survive and thrive.
LifeLine provides vital financial support to colleagues dealing with illness, bereavement, disability, domestic abuse, or struggling to make ends meet. Whether it’s paying for emergency home repairs, food and utility bills, or specialist equipment like wheelchairs, the charity steps in to help when it’s needed most.
This trek is just one of the ways LifeLine raises money throughout the year, and there are plenty of opportunities for businesses to get involved. Please also let your teams know about the kind of support ABTA LifeLine may be able to provide. Visit https://www.abtalifeline.org.uk/ to find out more.
