Sustainability, in all its different guises, is an increasingly important issue in all of our lives. We are acutely aware of the growing consequences of global warming and other social and economic pressures.

But we also know that travel and tourism is a force for good and one that creates and supports jobs and businesses in destinations, preserving heritage and cementing important cultural ties.

Working with our members, ABTA is committed to making travel more sustainable and our ‘Five Step Sustainability Programme’ has been developed to support all members, whether you are just starting out on your sustainability journey, or are leading a fully integrated sustainable approach both within your own organisation and with third party suppliers.

Managing sustainability in a structured way improves the customer experience by offering holidays that contribute to well-cared-for destinations and authentic experiences.

Our ‘Five Step Sustainability Programme’ is available in the Member Zone on abta.com, and you can see how one of our members is finding it useful here.
