FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel within 5km of the towns of Jinka and Hawassa. FCDO continues to advise against all travel and all but essential travel to parts of Ethiopia. Information that on 26 January 2026, the Ethiopian government and WHO officially declared the end of the Marburg virus disease outbreak (‘Warnings and insurance’ and ‘Health’ pages).
